CBM Services Group Managing Director, Scott Bretherton explains that the benefits of ISO certification, or accreditation, are two-fold.
“First and foremost ISO accreditation provides CBM Services Group with peace of mind that the systems or processes we are implementing meet clear guidelines and operating practices,” says Scott.
“Secondly, our clients can see we are certified and be confident they are engaging an industry best practice company for their services,” he said.
CBM Group recently underwent a rigorous ISO accreditation process for their newly developed Integrated Management System (IMS) to provide this assurance for their Customers, CBM management and employees.
The CBM Group IMS includes a Quality Management Framework for the design, construction, servicing and maintenance of air-conditioning and refrigeration, and medical and industrial gas systems. This framework received accreditation under the ISO 9001:2015 Standard.
“Being certified for this type of work is crucial for CBM Services Group to be able to confidently provide services in some occasionally high-risk projects,” explained Scott.
“When we tender for work installing gas systems like oxygen in hospitals, it’s essential that our clients know our work is backed by stringent accreditation supported by essential training and guidelines to optimise safety for our employees and the public,” he said.
“By holding ISO certification, we’re able to stand by our work and our servicing in accordance with the regulatory and legislative standards expected from our industry. Clients can take a lot of comfort from using an ISO-accredited organisation like CBM Services Group.”
Formalising the operating principles of the CBM Services Group has been a major undertaking and will position CBM as a strong, efficient, innovative and, ultimately safe organisation.
Employee safety is a cornerstone company value at CBM Services Group and the IMS work included the development of a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management System which is compliant with the requirements of the AS/NZS 4801:2001 Standard. This standard ensures best practice principles will support CBM employees working with, fitting, installing and servicing commercial air-conditioning, refrigeration, and medical and industrial gas systems.
“I want our employees to be backed by the best OHS policies and procedures and the IMS helps provide clear direction on what will keep our people safe,” said Scott.
Additional measures recently undertaken by CBM as part of their ISO certification process include an Environmental Management System (EMS) which is compliant with the requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 Standard for the provision of mechanical & electrical services. This accreditation covers the design, construction, servicing & maintenance of commercial air-conditioning and refrigeration, and medical and industrial gas systems.
An organised framework for minimising environmental impact and maximising CBM’s social responsibility reputation was also achieved through the IMS process.
“The ultimate goals for CBM through this major project is to provide a workplace where staff can feel safe and valued every day, participating in meaningful projects that meet public and industry standards, while offering assurance to our clients,” said Scott.
